Hourly Respite Activities
Out & About Recreational Program
Out & About is an extracurricular recreational program that allows Holy Childhood adults and students, who are medicaid-waivered and ages 14 and up, to broaden their recreational and social skills and knowledge. It takes place after School and work hours. Outings offer inclusion and interaction within the community that are crucial to establishing normal and healthy social lives. And it is a lot of fun! See the schedule below for upcoming outings.
April - June 2017
Kids Klub is an after school program for younger students that is held once a week during the school year. Participants are able to get out into the community to learn about activities and resources, meet new people and show the public that people with disabilities have abilities as well. It’s also an opportunity to socialize and have fun with school friends while offering parents and families a brief respite. Outings have included a tour of Bruegger's Bagels, a trip to the Lilac Festival and bowling.
Respite trips are organized for Holy Childhood adults several times each year. Trips usually include weekend getaways to area parks and planned recreational activities such as movies, games and hikes.
