POSITION:    Classroom Teacher                                     
PROGRAM:  Children’s Program
WHEN:           Immediate     
FLSA STATUS/CALENDAR:        Exempt - Full-Time – 10 Month plus Summer Program
DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of and in cooperation with the School Principal, is responsible for providing academic instruction of students in the Children’s Program and assisting students in their social, physical development and management needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the scheduling of homeroom and academic classes
  • Develop lesson plans and activities for academic and social growth
  • Serve as a resource for other teachers regarding curriculum
  • Evaluate and assess the academic and social skills of students
  • Facilitate the development of the IEP for students assigned to their classroom
  • Implement and administer NYS Alternate and Assessment
  • Report progress to parents and CSE’s quarterly
  • Supervise Para-professionals and/or volunteers assigned to work in their classroom
  • Attend and/or facilitate staff and in-service meetings as appropriate
  • Work as a team with all related service staff
  • To perform additional duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Special Education with NYS Certification preferred.  Bachelor degree and in pursuit of a Master degree in Special Education is required.  Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities strongly preferred.

POSITION:    Development Coordinator                                      
PROGRAM:  Development

DESCRIPTION:
Reporting directly to the Director of Development and Marketing, the Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining all internal and external fundraising and donor cultivation events and coordination of volunteers for the agency. This position requires a high degree of organizational and time management skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Special Events

  • Plan and produce events that raise significant funds for Holy Childhood programs and that heighten awareness of our mission.
  • Work with the Development team to form relationships with event sponsors and solicit in-kind donations.
  • Coordinate all donor cultivation and recognition events for the agency.
  • Serve as the agency coordinator for the annual Candy Sale
  • Work with the Public Relations Coordinator to create a cohesive marketing, promotion and collateral design plan for all special events, including all printed materials and website.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Volunteer Coordinator

  • Recruitment of volunteers (with a focus on long-term volunteers), orientation and training, acknowledgment and thanks, accurate and comprehensive record keeping, evaluation/feedback from both staff and volunteers, and   retention. Develops avenues to maintain and increase volunteer satisfaction.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates volunteer orientations and trainings for volunteers, including completion of all volunteer forms, background and reference checks.
  • Keeps detailed client/volunteer records in database and files. Maintains statistical information relating to the volunteer program (e.g. – number of volunteer hours; types of projects) Tracks history of volunteer dedication and accomplishment.
  • Serve as liaison to Parent Group(s) for volunteer activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

POSITION:    Medicaid Service Coordinator                                           
PROGRAM:  School of the Holy Childhood MSC
WHEN:           Immediate                 
FLSA STATUS/CALENDAR:        Non-Exempt - Full-Time – 12 Month
DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of and in cooperation with the MSC Supervisor, is responsible for providing direct Medicaid Serve Coordination for children and adults in accordance with Medicaid Service Coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides Service Coordination to a full caseload of children and/or adult consumers
  • Assists persons with developmental disabilities and mental retardation in gaining access to necessary services and supports appropriate to individual needs
  • Obtaining and maintaining benefits and entitlements for all consumers on caseload
  • Uses person centered planning process in developing, implementing and maintaining an Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
  • Promotes concepts of choice, individualized service and supports, and consumer satisfaction
  • Focus on assisting each person to achieve unique goals and desires in terms of having a home, job, circle of friends and enjoyable leisure activities and access to medical and clinical services
  • Completes mandated documentation pertaining to services provided
  • Assists families with legal guardianship information and forms
  • Assists families in making application to Central Entry and to accompany families to intake meetings
  • Attends agency in-service programs, staff meetings, and required OMRDD training

    QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field with One (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.

POSITION:  Business Manager of Adult Program
PROGRAM:      Adult Program

FLSA STATUS/CALENDAR:      Exempt – 12 Month
DESCRIPTION
: Under the supervision of and in cooperation with the Director of Programs and Services, is responsible for developing business relationships within the community to generate occupational and business opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities in the Adult Program. The Business Manager is responsible for procuring contracts and establishing quality control standards. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contacts business firms to explain the purpose and capabilities of the work program at School of the Holy Childhood and to secure contracts that meet the skill level of the individuals in the program.

  • Directs and reviews the activities of staff in such aspects as production, quality control, pricing, billing, purchasing of raw materials, maintenance of equipment, payroll preparation and the maintenance of all necessary records and reports.

  • Develops and maintains mutually beneficial and satisfactory working relationships with other habilitation/rehabilitation agencies in the community.

  • Trains workshop staff on what is required to fulfill contracts in terms of activities to be performed, production quotas, and quality control standards.

  • Orders supplies and equipment necessary to carry out contract work.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and competence in all DOL, OMRDD and VESID regulations and standards and assures compliance at all times..

QUALIFICATIONS: 5-10 years of related professional experience. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.  Must be competent and proficient with current technological methods and must have exemplary communication, organizational and facilitation skills.

POSITION:       Vocational Aide;                        
PROGRAM:      Adult Program

FLSA STATUS/CALENDAR:      Non-Exempt - Full-Time – 12 Month
DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Vocational Instructor, the Vocational Aide will assist with the programming established for individuals in the various workshop/classroom settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain accurate and complete individual and student records as required by laws, policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Confer with Vocational Instructors regarding the individuals and student’s progress and needs.
  • Assist with enforcement of workshop/classroom rules and procedures to maintain order among individuals and students.
  • Attend meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops as requested.
  • Prepare reports on individuals and students and activities as required by administration.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and previous experience with individuals with developmental disabilities required.  College degree preferred.

PROGRAM:      Adult Program

DESCRIPTION:. Under the supervision of and in cooperation with the Director of Programs and Services, is responsible for supervision and coordination of the School of the Holy Childhood’s adult work programs for people with developmental disabilities designed to promote vocational habilitation/rehabilitation; or performs specialized work of comparable responsibility in procuring contracts, establishing quality control standards and performing related administrative functions for the adult work program of substantial scope and complexity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exercises overall responsibility for coordination and supervision of adult work program operations.
  • Performs time studies to determine appropriate wages for consumers in order to comply with Department of Labor standards.
  • Supervises staff responsible for the day-to-day activities of the adult work program; resolves staff and consumer work problems.
  • Leads the adult program intake committee; recommends individuals for supported or other employment.
  • Trains staff in appropriate techniques necessary to address work and behavior issues that may arise in the adult work program.
  • Supervises the preparation of written documentation detailing progress in the adult work program as required by OMRDD and VESID.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competence in all OMRDD HCBS waiver service regulations and standards and assures compliance at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS: 5-10 years of professional experience in mental health based, education, social services, or closely related areas of which 5 years must have involved direct supervision of programs and services for people with developmental disabilities and Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in vocational counseling, psychology, social work, education, or related areas. QMRP Status is required.  The Associate Director of Adult Programs must have the ability to effectively lead a team, must be competent and proficient with current technological methods and must have exemplary communication, organizational and facilitation skills.
