Where We Need Help
Would you like to share some of your skills with Holy Childhood? If so, you've come to right place! There are many ways to make a difference within our agency. Contact Kate Balconi at (585)359-3710, ext. 169 for more information.
Do you enjoy helping out at events?
We host several events each year and we could always use help on the day-of for setup, cleanup, registration, and much more. Additionally, we sometimes have booths at community events and could use your help to represent Holy Childhood! This opportunity is perfect for the volunteer who has a flexible schedule and enjoys interacting with the local community.
Are you interested in event planning?
We have three golf tournament planning committees that meet regularly between October and July. Volunteers are heavily involved in securing sponsors, acquiring in-kind gifts, and helping us ensure a successful event. We also have other events such as the Craft Sale and Candy Sale that require pre -event planning. Volunteer time requirements are a bit less demanding but equally as important!
Do you have a passion for working with children?
We can set up an individualized opportunity based on programming needs where volunteers have the opportunity to read to students, assist with classroom outings, or work with our specials classes such as Music and Art.
Do you have a knack for Crafts?
Each Tuesday morning, a group of talented volunteers come together to socialize and make countless craft items sold at our annual craft event in November. Not available every Tuesday? Work from home and touch base with the group as your schedule allows!
Do you have talents to share in Woodworking or Baking?
Our Special Touch Bakery and Woodworking shop offer the opportunity to use your talents while benefiting the adults who work in these program areas. These volunteer positions are perfect for individuals who have prior experience in Woodworking and Bakery operations. Schedules are flexible.
Are you interested in Recreation programming?
Both of our children's and adult recreation programs are always on the lookout for volunteers to assist with community outings, recreation activities, and more. Schedules vary with some opportunities taking place in the early evening.
Are you a student needing to complete service hours?
We welcome high school and college students to visit Holy Childhood and participate in projects designed to compliment their academic work and/or community service needs. Please contact us with your project requirements (hours needed, anticipated date of completion, and desired outcomes) as soon as possible.
Is your company looking for an opportunity to give back and build team spirit?
We routinely host groups from local companies for days of service at our agency. These dates are scheduled based on agency need and the availability of a mutually agreeable date. Typical projects include:
· Weeding and/or Mulching
· Cleaning of building interior
· Cleaning of outside windowsInterior and Exterior cleaning of agency vehicles
