Woodworking Program

The woodworking program helps to increase independence through vocational skills building and helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more productive workers in society by increasing tolerance for work activities.  In the woodworking program, individuals learn basic woodworking skills and are taught how to use heavy machinery and observe tool safety. The woodworking program produces a variety of items including chests, Adirondack chairs, benches, cutting boards and picnic sets. Many items are sold at the annual craft sale in the fall and at weekend mall sales in December. The program also has had contracts with area companies to produce stakes, wedges, and display racks.

The Woodworking Sale in 2013 will be held at Eastview Mall beginning December 12th through December 15th during all mall hours.   Our fall Art and Craft Sale traditionally held on the first Saturday of November is also an opportunity to view our wide array of products and make purchases.
