Woodworking Program

The woodworking program helps to increase independence through vocational skills building and  helps individuals with developmental disabilities become more productive workers in society by increasing tolerance for work activities.  In the woodworking program, individuals learn basic woodworking skills and are taught how to use heavy machinery and observe tool safety. The woodworking program produces a variety of items including chests, Adirondack chairs, benches, cutting boards and picnic sets. Many items are sold at the annual craft sale in the fall and at weekend mall sales in December. The program also has had contracts with area companies to produce stakes, wedges, and display racks.

The Woodworking Sale was held at Eastview Mall in December where more than $13,000 worth of product was sold. Thanks to all who volunteered to help make it a success.
